Every entrepreneur struggles with not having enough time. There is always something else to do, another fire to put out, another project to be completed, another email to respond to.

We get stuck wondering things like, “is posting on Instagram worth my time right now?” or “what is the best use of my time?”

When you’re unsure what to do, it’s hard to move forward.

The good news is, you can easily bring order to the chaos by following this simple instagram content schedule.

In this post, I’ll define “consistent schedule” and provide 3 options for different schedules you can pick from. I hope that this will give you a roadmap so you can get started with strategic instagram content and grow your business without burning out.

What is the perfect Instagram Posting Schedule for Entrepreneurs?

The goal of an Instagram posting schedule is to maximize visibility, engagement, and overall impact by posting at times when your audience is most active and receptive. A well-defined posting schedule helps maintain a regular presence, builds anticipation among followers, and contributes to the overall growth and success of your Instagram account.

In other words:

It’s basically a game plan that lays out exactly when you’re dropping those content bombs on your feed. It’s all about syncing up with when your audience is vibing the most. The aim? Consistency, engagement, and making sure your posts hit the sweet spot when your followers are scrolling. This plan keeps you on the radar, builds that excitement, and plays a big role in boosting your Instagram game. So, if you’re wondering when to drop those gems, having a solid posting schedule is the secret sauce to keep things popping!

The added benefit is that with a solid plan, you’ll have plenty of time to do all of the things your business requires of you as well.

1 – Pick Your Posting Frequency

This is simply how many times a week you can realistically have content ready for.

This is a crucial component because Instagram loves consistency, and so does your audience! They will start to expect a post from you on Tuesday Mornings, let’s say!

Many people who are new to Instagram start out posting SO MUCH but then get stuck because they get burnt out or think they’ve said everything.

And then they wind up hating Instagram and completely stop posting.

The key to posting consistently is to pick a schedule that you can keep up with and that you can fit into your schedule.

To get started here, pick the days of the week you want to post. I recommend a minimum of 3 posts a week. M,W,F or T, Th, Su – you pick the days.

Write this down. Calendar, notes, somewhere. “I will post every Monday Wednesday and Friday morning”

*you can pick any time fo the day. Feel free to check your analytics for when they’re most active but more importantly, when do YOU have time to respond to comments and DMs? You should try to pick your posting time around this.

2 – Blocking Time and Creating a Creation Schedule

Think about how often you want to create content. I recommend weekly. Pick one day every single week to batch create some content for your instagram, but if monthly works better for you, set aside 2-3 days to create your content for the next month.

If you’ve spent hours creating one piece of content, just to have it flop, I bet you something feels off – like you’re not getting traction and you feel like you’re wasting your time, this is likely the piece that’s missing.

Without this, you can post every single day and still not generate traffic or sales.

What can you do?

A really useful technique for content creation is time blocking.

Time blocking helped me SO MUCH and it’s a complete game-changer for my students as well. By dedicating specific slots to creativity, you’ll find the flow is unstoppable—what starts as a single post often turns into hundreds of brilliant ideas. With blocked time, you’re not crating because you have to; you’re crafting with intention. It allows you to strategically plan your content, aligning with weekly or monthly goals, turning your feed from a jumbled mess into a profile with purpose.

3 – What to post about? Picking your Pillars or Themes.

Instagram content pillars are like the main themes or categories that make up the heart of what you share on Instagram. They’re the key topics that resonate with your brand, values, and what your audience is interested in. Having content pillars gives your Instagram a structured approach, ensuring there’s a good mix of content that aligns with who you are and what your followers love. It’s all about keeping things consistent, building a strong brand identity, and delivering content that speaks to the interests of your audience.

Here’s where you’ll really start to create a killer social media strategy.

Of course, this will take a bit of trial and error to master. So, to start, consider this plan I made for you.

The pillars  you can use to base your content off of is:

  • Education and Directing to a Free resource of yours for more info
  • Relating to your audiences struggles (make them say “ah this is so me!”)
  • Sharing personal Stories of you or clients with a promo of a paid offer of yours

Once you start creating content based on these pillars, you’re well on your way to a successful Instagram profile.
