The 3 Types of Sales Posts You Need on Instagram (and When to Use Each One)

Wanna work together? Cool, me too.

When I’m not on the ‘gram, I’m popping into your inbox to help you be more successful on IG

Should we make this official? I’ll send you my Instagram Growth Roadmap immediately just for hopping on.

If the thought of writing a sales post makes you cringe, you’re not alone.

A lot of business owners avoid selling on Instagram because they don’t want to sound pushy or lose followers. Others only talk about their offers when they’re actively launching—which can feel super jarring to their audience.

But here’s the truth: You’re on Instagram to make sales. And you can do that in a way that feels natural, authentic, and aligned with your brand.

Let’s break down the exact sales strategy I teach my students—one that helps you sell consistently (and confidently), while still providing tons of value.

Why You Need a Sales Strategy

Sales posts aren’t just about shouting “buy now.” They’re about building belief:

  • Belief that your offer solves a real problem.
  • Belief that you are the person to help them.
  • Belief that it’s worth taking action now.

When you consistently share strategic sales content, it stops feeling pushy—and starts building real trust.

The 3 Stages of Buyer Awareness

Every buyer is at a different stage in their journey. To sell effectively, you need to create content that speaks to each stage.

1. Problem-Aware

They know something’s wrong… but they don’t know what the solution is yet.

🔥 Goal:

Make them feel seen. Help them realize they’re not alone.

✅ Best Post Formats:

  • Relatable Reels or memes
  • Storytelling around a common frustration
  • “Have you ever felt like…” style captions

💡 Example (Instagram Coach):
“You open your app, realize you haven’t posted in a week… and close it again. Been there? That’s why I created this content hub.”

2. Solution-Aware

They know they need help, but haven’t decided who or what to trust yet.

🔥 Goal:

Educate, build trust, and position yourself as the go-to expert.

✅ Best Post Formats:

  • Quick tips
  • Myth-busting or spicy takes
  • Personal or client transformation stories

💡 Example (Confidence Coach):
“I used to overthink every conversation… until I learned how to set boundaries without guilt.”

3. Offer-Aware

They know what you offer and they’re almost ready to buy.

🔥 Goal:

Convert. Show them why now is the time.

✅ Best Post Formats:

  • Screenshots of testimonials
  • Behind-the-scenes of your offer
  • Transformation before-and-afters

💡 Example (Photographer):
“Meet Sarah—she went from hating every photo of herself to loving every shot. Here’s the magic we made.”

How to Mix Sales Posts Into Your Strategy

Think of your sales content like a ladder. Most of your audience is sitting on the problem-aware rung, and your job is to help move them upward.

Use this simple monthly ratio:

  • ✅ 6 Problem-Aware Posts
  • ✅ 4 Solution-Aware Posts
  • ✅ 2 Offer-Aware Posts
  • ✅ The rest? Value-packed, personal, or connection-building content

This balance creates a natural journey from “I’m struggling” to “I need your offer.”

Pro Tip: You’re Not Salesy—You’re Helpful

You help people. Your offer solves real problems.
Not talking about it? That’s the real disservice.

And the more consistently you mention your offer, the more normal it feels—to you and your audience.

This Week’s Action Challenge

Let’s put this into action. Try this:

  1. Plan & Post One of Each:
    • 1 Problem-Aware post
    • 1 Solution-Aware post
    • 1 Offer-Aware post
  2. Track the Results:
    • Which one got the most engagement?
    • Which one felt best to create?
  3. DM Me @insta.amplified:
    • I’ll check it out and give you feedback!
