My “No Overthinking” Content System for Busy Weeks

Wanna work together? Cool, me too.

When I’m not on the ‘gram, I’m popping into your inbox to help you be more successful on IG

Should we make this official? I’ll send you my Instagram Growth Roadmap immediately just for hopping on.

Okay, so we’re coming off the 4th of July weekend and I don’t know about you, but summer has been a lot for me lately. Friends in and out, back to back weekends, and it’s fantastic, but it makes it really hard to stay creative when your brain is somewhere else entirely.

You know that feeling. You get home from a busy weekend, you open Instagram with really good intentions, and ten minutes later you’ve closed the app and posted nothing because your mind is going a million miles an hour with everything else you have to catch up on.

Here’s what I want you to know first.

You’re Not Undisciplined, You Just Don’t Have a System

If this is you, you’re not bad at this. You just don’t have a system yet, so every time you’re coming back from a break it feels like you’re starting from day one all over again. That is exhausting for everyone, and it’s especially unsustainable when you’ve got a business, a life, maybe kids, maybe a full time job on top of it.

So let me give you the exact system I use so I never have to start completely from zero.

The Weekly Mix That Removes the Guesswork

On my busy or low energy weeks, here’s exactly what I post.

Two repurposed concepts. These are ideas I’ve already used before, just shifted into a new format or given a fresh hook. I actually posted one of these the Monday after the holiday weekend. My hook was about not wanting to plan content the day after a long weekend, so grab a viral hook, pair it with a B-roll, and call it a day. Same idea I’ve used before, just a new angle on it.

One completely new style or trend. I try to do this every single week no matter what. Maybe it’s a new trend, a different way of doing a talking head reel, or a tutorial. It’s low pressure because it’s just one slot in your whole week, so if it flops, it’s only one post.

One talking head reel or story. Just you, your camera, your phone. You don’t even need to script it unless being on camera makes you nervous.

Two repurposed, one new, one talking head. Four posts, and you can feel good about what you put out that week.

Practical Ways to Make This Actually Work

A few things that make this system doable even on your busiest weeks.

Keep a running list in your notes app of every post idea that comes to you. If a friend says something or you see something that sparks an idea, write it down immediately. You will forget it if you don’t.

Film your talking head video whenever you actually have ten quiet minutes and some energy, even if that’s sitting in the car before you go inside. Bank that footage for later in the week so you’re not scrambling to film it the exact day you planned to post it.

You Don’t Need a New Idea Every Week

Repetition with a small twist, a new hook, a fresh angle in the caption, is still genuinely valuable. Your audience probably didn’t even see your old post the first time, and if they did, they’ve likely forgotten it by now.

Consistency is what builds the relationship with your audience, not constantly reinventing everything you post. Being new and fresh every single time is not your job. Showing up reliably is.

Recap

  • Your weekly mix on busy weeks: two repurposed, one new style, one talking head
  • Repurposing isn’t lazy, it’s smart. If it worked once, it’ll work again
  • Batch content when you actually have the energy for it
  • Consistency wins over reinvention every time

Your Action Challenge

This week, find two old posts and repurpose them into a different format, hook, caption, or B-roll. Get them scheduled for later this week or early next week.

And if you’re thinking, cool, but I still don’t want to build this mix myself every week, that’s exactly what Plug and Post is for. The AI tool inside the membership builds your entire week of content for you in under a minute, based on your niche, your goals, your audience, and your tone. It’s there for the weeks you truly don’t have it in you to plan anything fresh.
